Tagalog Romantic Movies to watch (all over again)
My eyes feel tired. I watched DVDS and old VCDs of favorite movies, including Tagalog. I'm amazed at how similar (in some ways) and different our movies are compared to Hollywood's. Anyway, I want to commend the new writers and directors for making it possible for the Filipino movies to be transformed from boring and baduy to notably improved ones. Yes, I also have a list of Tagalog movies that sent kilig moments and worth commending. I’m sure you have watched or known these movies to be a hit:
1. A Very Special Love (John Lloyd Cruz & Sarah Geronimo)
2. One More Chance (John Lloyd Cruz & Bea Alonzo)
3. My Big Love (Sam Milby & Toni Gonzaga)
4. Don’t Give up on us (Piolo Pascual & Judy Ann Santos)
5. Till there was you (Piolo Pascual & Judy Ann Santos)
6. You are the one (Sam Milby & Toni Gonzaga)
7. You Got Me (Sam Milby & Toni Gonzaga)
8. Blue Moon (Mark Herras & Jennylyn Mercado)
9. Kailangan Kita (Aga Muhlach & Claudine Barretto)
10. Forevermore (Jericho Rosales & Kristine Hermosa)
The following are few of the old but unforgettable movies that touched my heart:
11. Sana Maulit Muli (Aga Muhlach & Lea Salonga)
12. Lumayo ka man sa akin (Richard Gomez & Gretchen Barretto) – Pinoy version of the Kevin Costner starrer “Revenge”
13. Hihintayin kita sa Langit (Richard Gomez & Dawn Zulueta) – Pinoy version of “Wuthering Heights”, great cinematography shot entirely in Batanes
I'm sure you also have your own favorite Pinoy romantic movies. You want to add to my list?

Romantic Movies you like to watch (all over again)
Since I will be alonely this Valentine's, I will have to celebrate heart's day watching my favorite movies. Here's my list of romantic and feel-good movies I'd like to watch all over again:
1. Nottinghill
2. The Lakehouse
3. Message in a Bottle
4. You've Got Mail
4. Sleepless in Seattle
5. My Best Friend's Wedding
6. Runaway Bride
7. Somewhere in Time
8. Wedding Singer
9. Fifty First dates
10. Serendipity
11. An Affair to Remember
12. Ice Castles
13. The Cutting Edge
14. Forever Young
15. Ghost
16. It could happen to you
17. Pretty Woman
18. City of Angels
20. Autumn in New York
21. Only You
You will notice that most of my favorites are from my era and starred by the same people -> Julia Roberts, Drew Barrymore, Meg Ryan, Richard Gere. I still remember their famous lines in these movies. Although some of these movies ended tragically, the love story is truly remarkable. I'll just sit infront of the TV as if sitting in Greenbelt theater with Lito as I have seen most of these movies with him in our younger years (naks, feeling old na talaga)
What about you? Do you want to add to my list?
Happy Valentines!

Vantage Point Movie Date

We didn't have a Valentines date so this was our post-valentine event. I had a chance to see the trailer of this movie in AXN channel and I was glad we had the opportunity to watch it. The movie was great! I love how the movie was shown thru the different vantage points until you are able to determine who the real killer and his motives were. Galing! Although at times, you maybe wondering what happened next because after scene, it'll start all over again from the point of view of another character. Dennis Quaid seemed older in the movie, but his role is something like Harrison Ford, me substance. I liked his heroic acts in this movie. I especially liked the Spanish Guy Eduardo Noriega, yung police, ANG POGI!!! and also I like the character of Forest Whitaker. I also loved the location or the venue where the movie was shot -> How I wish I can also go to Spain (idagdag sa wishlist yan hehehe). The car pursuit scenes seemed impossible but it came realistic. Ang ganda rin pala nung Spanish girl na naglagay ng bomb (hahaha, na-tomboy na naman ako)

More than meets the eye
It’s been a while since we last had a movie date..the last one was Pirates of the Carribean – At World’s End. I didn’t bother including it here because I was not impressed compared to the first two Pirates movies. Anyway, Transformers’ different so here it is. It was shown two weeks ago and was a sure hit on the first showing day so we assumed a standing room only for the first week. I already heard good reviews and I was so anxious to see the movie considering I’m also the cartoons version fan. Finally, here’s my verdict: It was a very long, action-packed movie. No boring moments, I even like the way the cars transformed. While Lito thought the movements were so fast not to show the details, I thought otherwise. It was smooth and the robots showed human feelings, funny. I like the way it started, showing the cube coming into earth and then the first scene showing humans and not robots immediately. The fight scenes seemed real and the attack at the sand dunes is amazing, sending viewers off their chairs. It was a very good movie not to mention it was done by no less than Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay, my expectations were exceeded. I was hoping I could watch it again with Aloysius but Lito thought there was too much violence and he would probably be worshipping Megatron instead of Optimus Prime, knowing my child he will. I also liked the stars, the leading lady of Sam and the girl who first detected the aliens from the sounds. Now, I appreciated my knowledge on ISO 27001 or Information Security because the movie showed information theft many times. It was a good choice for a movie date, although we were also thinking of watching Harry Potter first. Well, we made a good decision.

Labor Day, SPIDEY DAY

Spiderman 3’s opening day today, 3 days ahead of United States opening. Since it’s a holiday, what an opportunity for Lito and I to have a movie date again. We were not surprised to see long queues at the ticket booth but since it’s showing in all the cinemas at SM, we found good seats and was able to watch coming-soon movie sneak previews. I miss this because most of the time, we only enter when the movie is just about to start or the title and credits have already been shown.
The movie is expected to introduce new effects and more action scenes and I guess it didn’t fail the viewers on that aspect. I also liked the scenes where Peter Parker turned to the dark side and wore the black suit. His transformation made him “cool” and funny in a way. I loved the scene where he strutted down the street and looked dashing when he stepped out of the fashion store. What disappoints me is that the villain’s becoming one is too vague. Both the Sandman and Venom existence was not explained well in the scenes unlike the Octopus Man from Spiderman 2. Venom’s source came from the outer space alright and according to Peter’s Professor it gets its traits from its host so I’m wondering why did Eddie Brock became a Venom and got the Spiderman’s characteristics when he was just a freelance photographer? And why did Sandman just left like that? Did Spiderman just forgive and allow him to steal because he explained he needed money for his kid? I got confused there or maybe I wasn’t paying attention. The movie is lengthy, make sure you’ve already eaten before you watch it. Anyway, generally, we enjoyed the movie and the mala-“Dawson’s Creek” drama scenes of Peter and MJ didn’t matter too much. I almost forgot Harry Osborne (the James Dean look-alike friend of Peter and MJ), I was so glad to see him and at the turn of events toward the end of the movie. What’s remarkable was the last dialogue of Peter Parker –“We are all faced with choices. It’s a matter of making the right ones.” Or something to that effect….very timely to me. I hope to make the right choice soon…:). As for you, watch the movie and make a choice of liking it or not.

Movie Date at Gateway Mall
Lito and I went to Gateway Mall to have our passports renewed because the price is the same as going and lining up in DFA, Knowing me as matipid, I would rather go for the more convenient. It was a hot Friday so we decided to watch the movie 300 because I heard so many good reviews about this film. True to my friends’ words, 300 was really a hit. The action is non-stop from beginning to end. Gruesome it may seem, but the action really depicted what transpired in the scenes. For me, the more blood shed, the better. Call me brutal, but what do you think I named my son’s for? I hope you’ll also get a chance to watch it. It’s highly recommended.
Later, we decided not to report for work and spend the rest of the day “DATING”. I enjoyed our being twosome, it’s a rare experience nowadays because we already have kids. It’s not the I resent that fact but I also miss the dating. We had a chance to talk about our plans, our wishes, our children. It’s like when we are still planning to get married and have a family.
Of course, the date is not complete without eating. We ate at Razon’s, we love the Halo-Halo. Yum-yum!
Here’s the synopsis and poster of the movie 300.

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite.
