In the middle of everything

I haven't updated my blog recently because I'm in the middle of something....looking for cheap airfares, reliable sea freight forwarders, reserving for seminars I have to attend to, planning for our HK Trip and planning for a big project which opened my eyes to doing something for the preservation of the environment. I have started something in all these but have not accomplished anything and the clock is ticking. Haay..I'm glad I have someone to turn to for help. Thank you Lord. Of course, the internet is my tool in getting the info I needed.

In the middle of all these, I learned to appreciate time and my children who constantly ask for my attention. I came to realize that I should spent the little time I have for my parents and siblings and their offsprings. I learned to accept the uniqueness of the Filipino and how I will miss the intricacies of my culture and the beauty of my country.

I just want to stop and savor these moments, while in the middle of everything.

Lex's new hairdo

After discovering the marks from scratching on Lex's face and consulting with my pedia and n@wies (an online community of newlyweds and moms), I decided to have Alexus' first haircut without waiting for his First Birthday. We went to Festival Mall last Saturday and found the Hair Play near Enfant store. It was filled with "car" seats, toys, and TV with shows for kids. Carter had to carry Lex while his hair is being cut. He cried most of the time but the barber was very good he was able to finish without Lex going berzerk. I haven't downloaded the pictures from Wendy's new camera but I have here the before and after shots (although different pose and background). Gone are his corn colored hair but he looked grown up (and very "pogi") in his new 'do' (sulit ang 250 pesos plus tip- LOL).

The long wait is over, it's finally here!

First, I was too excited for our HK trip but I told myself not to disclose anything here until I get hold of our tickets. I learned my lesson from last year and I didn't want to ruin anything again. Now, it's a reality, I just got the tickets today so we're HK bound na. Thanks to Philippine Airlines Great Miles Getaway promo, I was able to avail 3 MNL to HKG tickets free (well, almost) for the kids and myself. As the song goes, "I'm so excited and I just can't hide it.." The kids are excited too and they can't wait to go to Disneyland.

While in the midst of thinking of our itinerary and planning for the EMS ISO 14001 Project, I got a SMS from Wendy telling me that the visa package arrived. I was speechless for a while until it dawned on me that this is it, our most awaited decision/outcome has finally arrived. I'm so happy, God is really good. When it rains, it pours and I was not that faithful but He is to me and my family. I have so much to be thankful for.

Now, I need to do a lot of things, I don't know where to start. Maybe for now I'll try to keep the smile on my face because it feels good. :)

Go Lakers Go!

I used to be an anti-Lakers NBA fan. Whenever I watched NBA and there's a Lakers' game, I always cheer for the other team. I dunno know why but I always sided with the underdogs - a Filipino trait. But when I was able to watch a Mavericks-Lakers game in Dallas last year, I witnessed how good they really were and Kobe deserves that "superstar" status. I was looking forward to a Cavaliers vs. Lakers finals but Orlando spelled Magic that's why this season's not yet for a Lebron and Kobe match. Game 2 was amazing! Pau's defense is splendid but then again, Orlando's "Magic" faded, with Lee failing that shot and the momentum slowly took away their victory in overtime. I'm looking forward to more exciting Games 3,4 or 5 if ever there will be.

How I wish that my kids will be interested in sports like basketball. I see signs in Kyle - I was head over heels with Manu Ginobilli at the time I'm pregnant with him but I still don't see any fanatic traits from me, Irvin, Justin, Daddylo or Roty. I bought Lex a Lakers shirt to feel the NBA Finals and let him be a Lakers fan to help me cheer Go Lakers Go!

Friday Photo Flashback entry - Longest Hair

I participated in Friday Photo Flashback meme by Alicia and it's always been an enjoyable task even when I'm busy at work. I also consider it my time-out in the midst of crunch time, to de-stress...here I am in my longest hair while Kyle was only 5 months old. I have not grown my hair that long eversince.

Celebrate success

I got this inspiration from an email and I felt like sharing it. I hope this inspires you too

If you wish to be successful, help others to be successful. If you wish to help others to be successful, be successful yourself.
Success does not occur in a vacuum. Success is most reliably created in a successful environment.

One person's achievement does not prevent or detract from anyone else's opportunity to achieve. Quite to the contrary, every achievement creates more possibilities for all to achieve.

There's no reason to feel guilty for having achieved more, and there's no reason to feel envious for having less. Instead, be inspired by every achievement you see, and be inspiring in your own creative efforts.

Envision, create and achieve in your unique way. Encourage and celebrate the work of others who seek to do the same.

Success is not built on envy or resentment or punishment or guilt. Success is built upon success, so let the building begin.

Weekend at A.Venue Hotel Suites

Wendy got a free weekend stay at The A.Venue Hotel in Makati and what a great way to end our summer! We didn't go for a swim, it was cold, It only has an Indoor pool and it was also raining cats and dogs. Dad enjoyed watching the French open, while Carter and the kids watched Nick and Spongebob on the flatscreen in the room. Kyle wanted to have that TV, I said we can't afford it. Kuya was busy playing with the PSP and Lex crawled around.
