Nature-tripping at Wildlife Park

It was another fun family day when we all went to have a picnic at Wildlife Park in Quezon City. Summer’s just around the corner and you could feel the heat but today, the climate’s just right. It was a cloudy day. We had fun watching the animals and birds. My kids enjoyed watching the peacock spread its wings. Aloysius remarked on the tall and green trees compared to the brown and dry trees he sees in the highway. We had set our picnic mat beside the lake overlooking the bridge. The sight is refreshing. It was not only an opportunity to rest and bond with our kids but also a chance to appreciate and enjoy nature, one of God’s basic gifts to us. It didn’t matter if we got bitten by ants or “higad”, it was a close encounter with these species and I’m thankful that Aloysius and Achilles witnessed these little creatures. My only regret is that we didn’t go here quite often to appreciate nature. Maybe if I did, I would have seen the other greens and flowers or visit the old monkey in the center of the garden. The park is not that green anymore compared to the last time I went there 10 years ago. Before, the park had these colorful bleachers and tree trunks where children run here and there. If given more attention, funds and more volunteers, this park could be another Sentosa and we could have another tourist attraction that will bring more jobs to the QC residents. I hope that people who have the power grants my request so that we could preserve and make Wildlife our nature in the city. Wish ko lang!

Painful!

I had to take a leave today because I felt so much pain in my stomach and numbness in my right leg. I went to Healthway and I was checked by a family doctor and 2 specialists and went through laboratory tests (which I paid for because our HMO doesn’t cover lab expenses – Kainis!). I was there for the whole day and it was ruled out that I may have an Inguinal Hernia (from recent child delivery, constipation and lifting heavy Kyle) and it was suggested that I undergo surgery. I was scheduled for the Surgeon but I forego because it was too much. I can’t imagine myself being hospitalized again, and surgery? I was thankful because I didn’t undergo CS with Kyle then and here I am now contemplating on surgery…the thought is making me nervous. I’m considering second opinion and will pray harder. I hope that this pain fades away and God heals me completely.

Busy Scrapbooking!

I haven’t been updating my blog lately because I’m busy with scrapbooking. I got so addicted that I even wake up in the middle of the night when everyone’s sleeping to do it. My mom would be surprised to see my kalat when she wakes up in the morning. What’s surprising is - Lito giving me 100% support as in when I ask him to go with me at National Bookstore to check some supplies, he comes without question when typically he would say, “gastos na naman yan”..hahaha. True, so I had to grab this chance. I bought cardstocks, embellishments and craft scissors (yung me shapes). Lito even offered buying me different Carl Craft punch at yung alphabet pa ha worth 1K+…strange talaga but I declined because I don’t have projects for those tools yet. It’s so amazing, this new hobby of mine fascinates my hubby too. He’s so excited to see my “projects” >>scrapbook pages which until now I haven’t shown. Wait till I post here so you can view too.

Love is in the air

Happy Valentines! Today, I can feel love and the kilig moments not only in me but everywhere. It feels good to be receiving flowers again after so many years. Yup Lito gave me flowers on valentines and we had a lunch date too. Dinner is impossible since his work schedule is different from mine so we had a quick lunch in SM Southmall during my break and before he got off to work. In the office there’s this Valentine Love message board where employees can send love notes to their crushes and loved ones. There’s a booth that sells flowers, chocolates and heart shaped balloons and employees where generally in the “high” mood as they exchange valentine greetings in the cafeteria and hallways. On my way home, I took a jeepney and all the other passengers either have flowers or with someone or just came from a date. Some were even wearing the same shirt (terno talaga!) and some were smooching in the little corner of the jeep without thinking that other people like me are watching. Strange for me to be observing them one by one but I noticed the same look on their faces, there’s glow in their eyes. It must be love! I thank God for this day and for opening my eyes to the blessings of His love. I felt and witnessed those kilig moments I rarely see in this now all work and technology-driven world.

5 Things That People Don't Know About Me

1. I love fashion. I love to try (take note not buy) new clothes, new styles and only buy those I can afford, wise buyer po ksi. I love going to malls and browsing through glossy fashion magazines and take note of the latest worn by mannequins. But I'm not too crazy about shoes and bags. Like Faye, I've been a fashion model wannabe, having dreamt of my own billboard or endorsing a signature line. Well, in my dreams. Here's a picture of me in my ramp modelling stint in front of 3000+ employees as one of the Star of the Night finalists at our Christmas Party.

2. I love to travel. It's my dream to see the world and explore each place' distinction. I dream of having my own travel scrapbook or luggage with stickers from all over. And of course, to complete my collection of souvenir bells from different places.I love photos of me and my kids in every place or event in our lives. I'm so glad digital photography was born. I used to buy lots of films back then. An Digital SLR camera and photography lessons are my next wishes.

3. I love food and new restos. Love eating out. It's an adventure for me to try new food and new restos esp if affordable. I look forward to Anton's blog because his discoveries, photos and ratings of new food and places to eat are really awesome.

4. I'm artistically-inclined. If not doing artwork in Photoshop or help Aloysius in his painting or drawing, I watch na lang sa mga art/painting stores. I also consider make-up, scrapbooking, crosstitching, fashion, and watching movies (not bold) ART.

5. "What Irmee wants, Irmee gets" - Aggressiveness and creativity (and lots of prayer) helps me achieve most of my targets. It's generally changing tactics, when the other plan didnt work out. Now, of all the wants in my list, I'm not even half way with my plans. I hope to get them all. God willing :)
