We spent my special day at Centreville, Toronto Island Park. We took the subway then took the ferry to go to Centre Island. The kids had a good time while we're on the ferry and as soon as the ferry docked, they were running to and fro the park. We were among the first to arrive, there are no lines yet even in the rides. We lingered in the kid's area. I took Lex to the Ferris Wheel and at first, he was enjoying it but he cried when it was time to unload the riders because he doesn't want it to stop. He enjoyed the other rides like the Carousel, Disney Train and Barrel. Miggy enjoyed the Sky Ride - a cable car ride, he took it twice with me and with his dad. Kyle got scared in the Dragon monster rollercoaster ride, after that he didn't want to try any more rides. I enjoyed the day, seeing my kids' faces in amusement is my best birthday gift. Of course, the pictures that my husband took to document this special day is precious; costs more than any gift I can receive. Later, we went to the beach and had a picnic there. It was a good time to relax with the cool breeze and the sun already hiding from the clouds. The kids liked running after the birds on the grassy field. I loved the view and the fresh air, it was a different birthday celebration.

Birthday Girl in Oakville (with RFM Friends)
My birthday weekend was a blast! Last Saturday I met with my former officemates from RFM in Oakville. Margie, Jijie (with their families) and I enjoyed the view (the sunset is amazing!) at the Marina and Erchless Estate. Taking advantage of Gie's husband photoshoot offer, we had fun posing at the Lighthouse and in front of the Lakeshore houses. I felt like a 24-yr old again (that's my age actually in reverse hahaha).
Our late lunch/early dinner was completed with stories and anecdotes from our former office. It became more exciting when Sarah joined us in speaker phone in our chit chat. The Go train ride was a first for both Bo-Jie's family and I. It was a worthwhile trip.

Toronto Honda Indy Event
I was hoping we could watch Indy Racing cars event here in Toronto because I discovered that on Friday, July 16 it is free for the viewing public. The Honda Indy Toronto is an annual IndyCar Series race, held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Originally known as the Molson Indy Toronto, it was a Champ Car World Series race held annually from 1986 to 2007. The track has 11 turns, is a 1.755-mile (2.824 km) street circuit, and is located at Exhibition Place.
This weekend’s Honda Indy Toronto will mark the 24th year of major racing in downtown Toronto. The event is credited with bringing about $40 million into the local economy each year and is considered the region’s single largest sporting event. It is so vital, the federal government recently gave the race a $772,000 boost toward track improvements before next year’s 25th anniversary. I hope next year we can already watch the race cars from the grandstands. Hopefully, by then I already have my LUMIX so I can take pictures of these race cars using a compact camera. The organizers don't allow bringing in of DSLR and video cameras. The reason why it's not worth it going there even if it's free. No pictures to document our chance to meet the race car drivers.

Summer is here!
At last, I felt the humidity and saw the sun shining bright you can only experience in a tropical country like the Philippines. I thought summer is not going to be the same in Canada but it's almost here and I love it. What a great time to have a picnic in the park with your close friends and churchmates.
Our congregation went to Wilket Creek Park after the service yesterday to celebrate Angelo's birthday and for the kids and kids at heart to play under the sun. It was fun. My kids especially Lex enjoyed running around. Lito enjoyed taking pictures with the new wide and telephoto lens for his Nikon.
